Some residents of Rosemount experienced extremely high waterbills in Rosemount this summer. Those without a second meter for exterior water usage saw the biggest difference. Rosemount's billing system treats all water usage, inside and out, the same, unless you have a second meter and your sewer charge is based off of water consomption. It is a real problem, but it was addressed at Thursday, October 10th's special work session at Rosemount's City Hall! The City Council is looking at aligning the billing cycle with our neighboring city's and changing the billing to based off of winter usage, rather than summer usage. The support from the council is there, but it does have to go through all the proper meetings to get approved, but if it does, you may have waisted over $500.00 on a second water meter. So, consider holding off for a couple months to see what the City Council does about this problem. All-in all - it was a positive meeting and the members had the concerns of the community members in mind.
